Elden Ring Nightreign Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 Routing — Advanced Limveld Guide

For players who’ve cleared an expedition or two and want to route smarter. The goal of every run is to hit the night-three Nightlord as strong as possible — that means a disciplined leveling loop, reading the map, and not feeding deaths in the central city.

DayPriorityWhy
Day 1Churches + mines, clear the outskirts, bank RunesCheap, safe XP; smithing stones to push your starting weapon
Day 2Castles + contest any special terrainBest mid-run loot density; special terrain is where the Day-2 circle collapses
Day 3Prep for the Nightlord — top up levels, flasks, weapon upgradesNo detours; you want a clean transition into the boss

Target Level 15 before the night-three fight, with your starting weapon upgraded toward Purple.

Check the night-three Nightlord’s weakness first. If no one on the team has a Relic that adds the matching status to a starting weapon, plan at least one stop at a camp to find the gear.

  • Example: against Adel, Baron of Night (2nd Nightlord, poison-weak), a poison weapon can clear Phase 1 with almost no flask spend — routing for poison is worth a detour.

See per-boss weaknesses in the Nightlord guides, or plan a loadout in the Relic Build Simulator.

If the map rolls a special terrain (Scarlet Rot, permafrost/frost fields, etc.), the Day 2 circle almost always shrinks toward it. Plan accordingly:

  • Day 1: develop the outskirts and bank levels — don’t rush the terrain yet.
  • Day 2: head straight for the special terrain to grab its resources before the circle forces you.

Scarlet Rot warning: if the boss circle sits inside the bottom-right rot terrain, you’ll bleed HP the whole time unless you’ve first secured the rot-immunity blessing. Get the blessing before you enter the circle, not after.

The central city is high-value loot — and a rookie graveyard. Three common setups:

EncounterDifficultyApproach
Lost Knight★★★Standard team fight
Furnace Knight★★★★Mind the fire AoE radius
Pot-throwing Troll(s)★★★★★You must split aggro

Beating the pot-throwing Trolls (the key fight)

Section titled “Beating the pot-throwing Trolls (the key fight)”

The pot-Trolls wreck teams that bunch up, because the two Trolls lob pots at each other’s targets. Split them instead (trio tactic):

  1. One player takes the Troll on the narrow path before the indoor boss room (Executor with the katana solos it comfortably).
  2. Two players take the Troll on the opposite platform, clearing it plus the adds first.
  3. With each Troll fought separately, they never cross-pelt you with pots.
  4. Handle any remaining Trolls the same way — isolate, don’t group.

With Day-1 development done, you should out-level the Trolls. The top-floor boss is usually clearable before the second Day-1 circle unless it’s one of the nastier spawns (e.g. Black Blade kin, dragon-tree types).

Skills and Ultimates scale with character level, not weapon quality. So for classes like Recluse and Executor, don’t lean on the Skill purely for damage (especially solo) — value its utility:

  • Recluse: FP regen from status marks + Relic-triggered Mage Realm.
  • Executor: ultra-low stamina cost + Relic block-heal sustain.

Hold Ultimates for boss interrupts where possible.

Completing a Nightfarer’s side quest rewards one of three things:

  1. A Relic with a character-specific affix (large or medium)
  2. A Vessel with a universal slot (more flexible Relic mixing)
  3. A Remembrance skin (Raider’s is the community favorite)

Do the Tracker quest first — it has a special ending and the most practically useful reward Relic. See per-character notes in the character guides.

  • Back up your save before an expedition, then roll random Relics with ~600 Murk at the Roundtable.
  • Re-roll until you hit your target affix, then embark.
  • Leveling lane: Day 1 churches + mines → Day 2 castles → Day 3 boss prep. See the full method in the Relics & Builds guide.
