Bleed/Frost Relic Example

Every Nightfarer’s starting weapon should carry one status (bleed/frost) Relic, and every member should equip “Flask Heals Nearby Allies”.

That’s the one-line summary. Everything else is optimization.

1. Starting Weapon Adds Status (Bleed / Frost)

Most impactful Relic in the game. Every few hits triggers a massive damage burst.

  • One weapon = one status (cannot stack on same weapon)
  • Exception: Executor’s starting katana has innate bleed → adding frost gives you both statuses
  • After equipping, focus all upgrade stones on starting weapon to Purple tier
    • Blue Stone: 6,500 Runes from any merchant
    • Purple Stone: drops from Mines

2. Weapon Status Targeting Nightlord Weakness

At least one teammate should carry the Nightlord-weakness status:

  • ~20% damage boost (varies by boss resistance)
  • Critical: status procs can interrupt boss ultimates

Flask Heal Example

When you drink, allies in radius heal too. Entire team becomes healers. Hugely extends flask economy in long boss fights.

Faster leveling = better stats. Goal is Level 15 by Day 2 night.

  1. Save up 600+ Murk before run
  2. Backup save file (Steam cloud or local save folder)
  3. Talk to Pot Merchant Bersa → roll random Relic
  4. Got desired stat? Continue. Bad roll? Restore save, try again
  5. Repeat until you hit target Relic

The universal Nightlord-killer.

Execution sequence:

  1. Raider drops Totem Stela near Nightlord → team-wide attack buff
  2. Ironeye uses Δ+L2 to Mark boss → +10% team damage, builds toward burst proc
  3. After totem activates, Ironeye and Executor pop Ultimates simultaneously
  4. Boss takes massive burst damage

When your team can’t melee:

  • One Ironeye holds aggro
  • Other two Ironeyes free DPS from safe range
  • Revives via arrow shot at downed teammates

Compromise when only one strong melee player exists.

Playstyle: Dodge-roll into boss, hit-and-run combos. Frost + Bleed dual status triggers within 3-4 hits each.

Vessels unlock additional Relic slots. Two ways to obtain:

  • Per-character Goblet (from completing character side quests) — third slot accepts any color
  • Standard Chalice (purchase from Pot Merchant after defeating set number of Nightlords)

These are the two most underrated Relics:

  • Frost Tread: AoE frost on dash
  • Stoneword Cage: traps lighter enemies + applies frost
  • Combined with bleed on starting weapon: early-game snowball is brutal

Q: Do I have to grind Murk for hours to get good Relics? A: No, save-scumming Pot Merchant gets you target Relics in 30 minutes.

Q: Can I respec Relics mid-expedition? A: No, Relics lock at expedition start.

Q: Best Build for solo final boss? A: Wylder or Ironeye with non-bleed status (Heolstor has bleed resistance).

Q: How many Relics per character? A: Starts at 3 slots, expandable to 5-6 via Vessels.
